Where It All Began

For over 7 decades we've believed in elevating the dress standards of all Australian men. Empowering them to draw confidence from their appearance, knowing that they will look their best and be ready for every occasion. This strong sense of purpose started in 1948, in the heart of Melbourne's CBD—Little Bourke Street, where siblings Olga, Peter and David Jackson ran their iconic barbershop.

Tailored Specialists

Selling neckties, the trio's foray into fashion gradually evolved into a full tailored men's range. Soon after, we promptly established ourselves as the number one destination for men's fashion throughout Melbourne.

New Generation

With a new generation of Jacksons at the helm and more than 60 stores nationally, Peter Jackson still remains a family business echoing views and values established 70 years ago.

Merino Wool

Our suits are crafted from Australian Merino wool that is meticulously cultivated by generations of Australian woolgrowers. We use Merino wool because its resilient natural stretch prevents it from losing its shape. When the fabric is stretched, the fibres' natural crimp acts like a spring, returning it to its original form. Its durability also stems from it being comprised of a special protein called keratin. Keratin acts as a barrier, protecting you (and the sheep!) from environmental elements.

Cotton

All Peter Jackson shirts are fashioned from 2-ply Egyptian cotton formed from the rich soil and moist atmosphere facilitated by the Nile River. We use Egyptian cotton because it's substantially longer than regular cotton. This results in more uninterrupted fibres to use for composing yarn and threads, making the threads and eventual fabrics stronger overall as a result of fewer splices.

Silk

All our ties and pocket squares are handmade from premium silk sourced from Italy's city of silk, Como. The ample water supply provided by Lake Como and the mulberry (the silkworm's food of choice) farming in the Po River Valley to the south provides the nurturing landscape this fine fabric demands.

Linen

Our linen lines are all organically woven from the fibres of the flax plant, a long and flexible plant that sprouts a single blue flower. These stalks contain the bundles of flax fibres that take it from field to fabric. We source our linen from the Italian Boggi Milano (formerly known as Crespi). For more than two centuries, this Italian mill has been a leader in natural fabrics. Pioneering an all-natural way of producing linen, Boggi finds itself on the cusp between tradition and modernity.

Garment Journey

Our chosen mills are renowned for their refined production techniques, dedication to quality, and use of premium natural fibres. Our enduring partnerships with them stem from their innovative approach and eco-friendly practices, with a focus on environmental performance and compliance with regulations.

Bridging

We deliver quality tailored menswear at excellent value because Australian men deserve better from the menswear industry. Through ethical and sustainable trade practices, we create standards that benefit everyone involved. We partner with environmentally responsible suppliers like Marzotto, whose solar investment has saved nearly one million litres of oil since 2011, and Reda, whose water purification plant earned them EMAS certification in 2004. These partnerships help us minimize our environmental impact and build a sustainable future for fashion.
