Recognising Symptoms of Mental Health Issues in Men
Common symptoms in men may include:
Physical Symptoms:
Constant tiredness, headaches, muscle pains, stomach issues, sleep problems, and significant weight changes.
Emotional Symptoms:
Feelings of failure, worthlessness, or hopelessness, irritability, anger, and mood swings.
Behavioural Changes:
Withdrawing from friends and family, loss of interest in activities once enjoyed, increased use of alcohol or drugs, and neglecting responsibilities.
Recognising these signs is the first step toward seeking help and fostering a supportive environment.
"I always thought asking for help was a weakness. But when I finally called Beyond Blue’s support line, it changed my life. That conversation gave me the hope I needed to start rebuilding myself."- Peter Jackson Staff Member
